The General Election Commission (KPU) of DKI Jakarta began the stages of matching and research (Pencocokan dan Penelitian) for the Jakarta regional elections (Pemilihan Kepala Daerah) today, June 24, 2024.

In addition to mapping the vulnerable areas for the 2024 local elections, the Polda Jatim are also focused on securing the vote recount in two regions, Jember and Pamekasan, for the DPR RI and regional DPRD elections to be held in Surabaya City on 23rd June 2024. The vote boxes for the recount are currently safely stored at the East Java Police HQ. The KPUD specifically deposited the election logistics because, in accordance with the ruling of the Constitutional Court, the police were appointed to provide security.

The coklit process will be carried out by voter data updating officers (Pantarlih). At least 29,315 Pantarlih officers have been officially inaugurated by the KPU DKI Jakarta. This was announced by the Head of Data and Information Division of KPU DKI Jakarta, Fahmi Zikrillah, at the Readiness Ceremony of Voter Data Updating Officers (Pantarlih) for the gubernatorial election (Pilgub) at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Rawamangun, East Jakarta, on Monday.

KPU RI Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari, Secretary General Bernad Dermawan Sutrisno, and members Idham Holik and Yulianto Sudrajat. Representatives from the KPU of 38 provinces throughout Indonesia, as well as officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Bawaslu, DKPP, and other related agencies, were also in attendance.

“Lumajang is incorporated to this Pilkada because of a notable incident in the past,” said Irjen Imam at the Mapolda Jatim on Friday (21/6/2024). Therefore, according to Irjen Imam, there will be differences in the safeguarding measures between the Pilkada and the last election. This will be adjusted to the characteristics of each region. “The security patterns will undoubtedly vary; we are currently mapping the Pilkada potential vulnerability index (IPKP) of each region,” said Inspector General Imam. “God willing, in August or September, after the candidate announcement, we will know how to map the security patterns in each region,” added Irjen Imam.

Budiman, a political observer from Mulawarman University (Unmul), stated that candidates running in the East Kalimantan Regional Election must be transparent. “Prospective regents in the East Kalimantan Regional Election must be transparent and free from money politics,” he remarked.

KPU Banyuwangi member for the Division of Voter Education, Community Participation, and Human Resources, Enot Sugiharto, announced that the pantarlih have been carrying out their duties from 24 June until 24 July. Enot mentioned that in performing their duties, pantarlih should not work merely at their desks but must go directly to the field by visiting local residents’ homes. “The goal is to ensure that the voter data for the upcoming Pilkada on November 27 is truly valid,” he said on Wednesday.

Kaka Suminta stressed that to avoid any suspicions of lobbying by prospective regent and deputy regent pairs related to administrative verification, the central KPU needs to intervene. “There must be oversight from the central KPU,” said Kaka. He added that to avert any clandestine attempts at committing fraud during administrative verification, the central KPU should enforce strict oversight. “If pairs do not pass administrative verification, they should not be given any leeway that could damage democracy,” he said.

The officials present included Acting Director General of Political and Public Administration Togap Simangunsong, Deputy Coordinator for Domestic Political Affairs at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Major General TNI Heri Wiranto, Assistant Deputy for Election and Political Party Management Brigadier General TNI Haryadi, Assistant Intelligence TNI Djaka Budhi Utama, Deputy Director of National Security Agency Police, Member of DKPP I Dewa Kade Wiarsa, Secretary of DIY, and Klaten Regent Sri Mulyani .

Meanwhile, the Banyuwangi Election Supervisory Board (Badan Pengawas Pemilu) has instructed its subordinates to closely monitor the process of voter data verification (coklit) for the 2024 Pilkada. The Division of Prevention, Community Participation, and Public Relations of Banyuwangi Bawaslu, Khomisa Kurnia Indra, stated that there are many aspects that need to be supervised during the coklit phase. According to her, after the determination of the 2024 election’s final voter list (DPT), there are many elements to observe leading up to the Pilkada, such as voters who have passed away, residents who are married but not yet 17 years old, residents who have moved, and new voters who have completed e-KTP recording. “These elements are crucial to observe to ensure that the final voter list in Banyuwangi aligns with the actual conditions on the ground,” she asserted on Wednesday.

“Technically, I ask KPU friends at the provincial, regency/city levels to always coordinate with local governments, the military, police, prosecutors, and courts, so that in carrying out their work or tasks, the election organizers can work well,” said Hasyim .

**Residents Prepare KK and E-KTP** “The results of the DP4 synchronization with the latest DPT voters are the basis for the coklit process, matching and research, which we will validate to see if the 8,315,669 voters’ data is truly valid or not,” he said. Furthermore, Fahmi hopes that residents can prepare several population documents to facilitate Pantarlih officers during the coklit process. Residents are requested to prepare their e-KTP and family card (Kartu Keluarga).
